For broad access universities and, particularly, arts and humanities departments, the gap between what students need and what institutions can provide is widening—employer relationships are underdeveloped, career infrastructure is thin, and funding for the programs that would close that gap is hard to come by.

For K-12 schools, that means giving students meaningful exposure to career pathways they might not otherwise encounter.
