CAREER READINESS ACCELERATOR | EMPLOYERS

Providing access to creative talent most recruiting never reaches.

The creative industries run on relationships. The Career Readiness Accelerator gives Industry Partners a structured, sustained way to build those relationships with colleges and universities, students, and the next generation of creative talent.

Creative leaders know what they're looking for when they see it. The challenge is that they often don't get to see it. As recruiting teams become smaller and more generalized, portfolios are screened farther from the designers, creative directors, and hiring managers best equipped to evaluate creative talent. Automated screening adds another layer between promising candidates and the people most likely to recognize their potential. By the time creative leadership gets involved, many promising candidates have already been filtered out.

The Career Readiness Accelerator (CRA) gives your organization direct access to talented students before there is a job to fill, while building meaningful relationships with the institutions educating them. Through a structured program of mentorship, career preparation, and industry engagement, your team gets to know emerging talent over time.

WHY PARTNER WITH THE CAREER READINESS ACCELERATOR?

CRA gives your organization a structured way to engage with talented students, expand your recruiting network, and support the next generation of creative professionals. Impact Collaborative manages the relationships, logistics, and program delivery, making it easy for your team to participate in ways that create value for both your organization and your employees.

Access to Talent Most Pipelines Don't Reach

Your team connects with talented students from colleges and universities beyond your existing recruiting network. Rather than meeting candidates only when they're applying for jobs, your team gets to know students over the course of the program, gaining insight into how they think, communicate, respond to feedback, and grow as emerging professionals.

Expanding Your Recruiting Network

You'll also establish relationships with colleges and universities beyond your existing recruiting network. Those relationships create opportunities for future recruiting, internships, and hiring while also opening the door to guest speakers, classroom engagement, sponsored projects, portfolio reviews, and other forms of ongoing collaboration.

The Infrastructure is Already Built

Building relationships with colleges and universities requires time, dedicated staff, and sustained investment and coordination. Impact Collaborative has already built that infrastructure, managing institutional relationships, program logistics, and day-to-day operations so your team can focus on engaging with students and sharing its expertise.

Meaningful Employee Engagement

Participation is entirely voluntary, giving employees the opportunity to engage in ways that fit their interests and schedules. Whether mentoring a student, leading a workshop, participating in a panel, or reviewing portfolios, employees share their expertise while helping students build confidence, strengthen their work, and prepare for the realities of the job market.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

We work with you and the participating educational institution to shape the program around your team’s capacity, priorities, and areas of expertise. The program offers six flexible components that can be delivered in person, virtually, or in a hybrid format.

Industry Partners don't sit in the background as sponsors. Your people are active participants in the program, mentoring students, reviewing work, sharing career perspectives, and opening their doors.

PROGRAM COMPONENTS

THE PROGRAM IN PRACTICE: LEHMAN COLLEGE

CRA was deployed during the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters at Lehman College, a senior college of the City University of New York (CUNY) system.

The Lehman pilot demonstrated what can happen when industry professionals have the opportunity to get to know emerging talent outside the traditional recruiting process.

The Industry Partner for the cohort was Warner Bros. Discovery. Thirteen students participated, each matched with a creative professional aligned to their specific discipline. Mentors included Creative Directors, VPs, and Art Directors from Warner Bros., HBO, HBO Max, and BBMG.

What WBD Mentors Saw

The experience gave WBD professionals a direct look at talent they would not ordinarily have encountered through their recruiting process.

  • Talent exceeded expectations. 11 of the 13 mentors described being surprised by the sophistication of the work and the freshness of the perspectives students brought to their sessions.

  • They saw students develop. 12 of the 13 mentors spoke about watching a student take feedback, incorporate it, and visibly grow in confidence over the course of the program. It’s the kind of information that is difficult to surface from an application or interview.

  • People they would hire. 9 of the 13 mentors said they would recommend their mentee for a junior-level position.

Within weeks of the pilot’s completion, a VP of Brand Design at HBO Max reached out directly to Lehman faculty to refer program participants for two open contract roles, bypassing the centralized HR systems that typically screen out emerging designers before a hiring manager ever sees their work.

Based on the results of the pilot, the program is expanding in fall 2026 to additional students, disciplines, and program components.

PARTNERSHIP MODEL

The Career Readiness Accelerator is built around a three-way partnership between Impact Collaborative, the Industry Partner, and a participating institution, with each playing a distinct role.

What Impact Collaborative Provides

Impact Collaborative designs, builds, and manages the Career Readiness Accelerator, providing the higher education relationships, industry expertise, and program infrastructure that make the model possible.

  • Program design and management. Program design, logistics, coordination, and facilitation, adapted to your calendar with minimal administrative burden on your team.

  • Institutional Partner development. Identification and vetting of colleges and universities aligned with your geographic presence, talent priorities, and areas of interest.

  • Student and mentor coordination. Management of student and mentor matching, scheduling, briefing, and ongoing support throughout the program.

  • Institutional relationships. Connections with faculty, department leaders, and career services professionals that can create opportunities beyond the program itself.

  • Measurement and outcomes tracking. Pre- and post-program surveys, employment and placement tracking, mentor feedback, and longitudinal measurement of program impact.

  • Stories and evidence you can use. Student outcomes, success stories, and mentor testimonials for internal communications, employee engagement, corporate responsibility reporting, and other organizational needs.

  • Relationships that extend beyond the program. Connections with Institutional Partners, students, faculty, and emerging talent that your organization can continue to develop over time.

The Role of Industry Partners: Industry Partners co-invest in the program and bring what only industry can provide, including professional mentors, industry expertise, workplace access, and direct engagement with students.

In turn, you gain meaningful access to emerging talent your existing recruiting channels may not reach, along with relationships with the institutions educating them.

The Role of Institutional Partners: Institutional Partners also co-invest in the program. They identify the students and academic programs that will benefit most, provide insight into their needs and goals, and work with Impact Collaborative to integrate the program with existing academic and career resources.

Together, the three partners create a sustained connection between your organization, talented emerging creatives, and the colleges and universities preparing them for the workforce.

A SHARED INVESTMENT

The Career Readiness Accelerator is built on a shared-investment model, with Industry and Institutional Partners both contributing to the cost of the program.

Your investment gives you a structured way to connect with and develop emerging creative talent while making this level of industry-specific career preparation possible for participating institutions. Institutional Partners invest based on the scope and configuration of their program.

The shared model creates value on both sides. Institutions expand their capacity and employer networks. You gain direct access to emerging talent and build relationships with the academic programs preparing them.
